Japanese month!

Japanese month?
Japanese month. *smirks*

As a student, it is rather "difficult" for me to find a descent Japanese restaurant in Penang which is good and not so pricey.
Not to say Penang has a lot expensive Japanese food outlets but a RM30.00 lunch meal on school days is absolutely cray cray.
.
.
BUT
.
.
at the same time,
we all want something nice and yummy and not just tummy filling,
it's also the quality that counts!

This post ain't like the usual food review posts though.
Just an ordinary food post which,
at the same time sharing my thoughts and photos on this and that ;)

Oh! Sushi Penang is situated in Straights Quay, Tanjung Tokong.
Straights Quay is of course,
A place with good food and good view!

Have been wanting to try out this place for quite some time now but it's almost 45 minutes away from where I live, so, yeah.
.
.
To my surprise,
their food was not THAT expensive.
Judging by its location, I was expecting a much higher rate but their menu definitely caught my attention.

Their food price was almost Sushi Tei - ish. So I ain't gonna talk much on this post today.
Just feast your eyes and enjoy!

Couldn't quite remember the actual name and price but it was their Hot Selling Sushi Rolls with Avocado and Mangoes!
[RM22.00++]

Tummy filling portion with or without rice as you wish.
Contains Beef and a mix of Kimchi :D
Not over RM20.00 if I'm not wrong.
Definitely worth the try!

dat egg tho

Cold Green Tea noodles, Cha Soba with Quail Egg served with Tempura. [ RM 17.90++ ]
I assume Sakae serves low quality Cha Soba.
Their Quail Egg was fresh but the cold noodles made my tummy felt weird.
You will have to mix the cold noodles with the raw Quail egg first,
then dipping the noodles into a soup-like sauce before every mouth you take.

I've tasted Cha Soba before but this was a 1 out of 10 :/

*for the sake of photo purpose lol*

Sushi Tei :

Up till now,
Japanese outlet with the most reasonable price and close-to-perfect quality food!
*my opinion*

Tan Tan Don [ RM12.80 ]
I freakiiiin love Sushi Tei's way of serving their Dons.
Especially the ones with Sashimi served with cold sticky rice (Chirasu Don).
Also the one with cold tuna and a perfect juicy slimy yolk in the middle (Negitoro Don).

.
.
And it's so cheap!

*forgets name bangs wall*
someting Lover's Roll [ RM14.80 (L) RM7.80 (S) ]
A twist of fresh raw tuna and avocado with mustard drizzles~
Which is super awesome!

It was a 2.30pm lunch so the whole place was ours!

" Currently a year-2 student taking Bachelor of E&E Engineering University of Bradford.
I have to admit, taking E&E was very very tough even when I started from diploma.
Moreover, it wasn't easy or mind pleasing when you know yourself that you can't achieve what other students can, but.you.just.can't.stop.worrying...EVERY.SINGLE.DAY...
But sometimes hangouts like these takes my mind off the stress and worries, enjoying my youth while I still can *lol*
You can rarely find steady friends like these once we step foot into the real world.
So for now, just sit back, relax and have good food everyday! "

The Safe Room @ Campbell Street, Georgetown, Penang

Searching for a new place to lim-kopi in Penang?
Bored of the usual coffee-cake cafes?
.
.
.
Presenting, the first cafe selling Liquid Nitrogen desserts!

The Safe Room is located just a few shops away from Moustache House and Sugar Honey Cafe :D

Am liking their open-aired kitchen for the customers to witness the whole process of the makings of their special desserts!

Definitely loving the ambiance here.
Such a busy and crowded day, and its only WEDNESDAY!
Definitely going to be one of the top cafes in Penang.
Take note take note!

The Safe Room's Menu for any of you out there who is interested ;)
Besides coffee and dessert, they do sell tummy-filling meals which is suitable for customers visiting anytime of the day.
We were quite full after our heavy lunch in CaLèFè Hauz Gastro Cafe and therefore we didn't get to try one of their specialties dessert, The Dragon's Breath!
-which is popcorn served with liquid nitrogen-
Until next time!

Coconut Nitro Ice Cream [ RM 15.90 ]
The Safe Room's signature dessert!
Fresh coconut is used with Vanilla Ice Cream and a hint of Sugar Syrup.
The Coconut juice will be transformed into a pristine-white velvety smooth Ice Cream-Sorbet.
It ain't that creamy compared to the usual Ice Cream's texture but it definitely has a strong Coconut flavor.
This dessert is best for such a heat-y weather in Penang as it's not very sweet and so so ICEY!

Green Tea Cafe Latté [ RM9.90 ]

Rose Cafe Latté [ RM9.90 ]
Giving this drink a thumbs up!
Dat strong rose flavor tho. nice...

Given birdies as table numbers while waiting for the food. Chip!

And after that, we went exploring around the cafe!
I must say,
awesome decos for such a limited amount of space!

There is this huge "Tree" in the "Safe Room".
A room where couples get to lock down their LOVE forever!
Each "Love Lock" is RM39.90 with names engraved! *how kewl is dat*

Obviously we didn't purchase any "Love Locks" but took photos with their #LoveLock signs haha!

Wasn't quite sure whether their guest book for the "Love Lock" couples or customers,
but whattheheck and signed anyway lol!

Do head down to The Safe House to snap with their Lego "dolls".
It's actually part of our Malaysian street arts tho *wink wink*

We didn't get to try ALL their specialties tho,
but its that few limited and precious hours we spent together that counts.
Friends who still has loads stuff to crap about even if we meet only once a year...
